Description
Avocom Cream is a potent topical corticosteroid preparation containing Mometasone Furoate 0.1%.
It is indicated for the symptomatic management of various inflammatory dermatoses, including psoriasis and contact dermatitis.
Mometasone Furoate functions by suppressing the local immune response and inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes.
This mechanism effectively reduces clinical manifestations including erythema, pruritus, edema, and hyperkeratosis.
Due to its high potency, clinical usage must be carefully monitored to mitigate risks of adverse effects such as cutaneous atrophy, telangiectasia, or systemic absorption leading to hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression.
Prolonged application or use under occlusive dressings is contraindicated without direct medical supervision.
Administration
Apply a thin layer to the affected skin area once daily.
Usage should be limited to the duration strictly prescribed by a healthcare provider.
Avoid application to the face, intertriginous areas, or broken skin, and exercise extreme caution in pediatric populations.
